using facebook as marketing tool

I suppose one could use these ideas to market one's book...

I keep telling myself that someday I'll join Facebook and it would help me promote my book. Then I waffle and worry about privacy and when would I find the time and how my social skills in such a vast social network would be inadequate. But thanks for the info.

Well, my social skills are really bad, and I'm there :-D
You could have a facebook identity for Layla :-)
Finding the time - now, I know thousands of things that would be better use of time than Facebook - like writing, for example :-D - but you could give it 15 minutes every Friday, or something. If you want to. It really doesn't need more than that. Of course one can use as much time there as one wishes, but it's like a soap opera in real life... virtual real life :-D You can easily keep up with what's happening by visiting it only once a week or so.
Nevertheless, I don't think it's worth it :-)

Facebook is a new frontier for me. Like Helena, I hesitated for a long time. Thanks for the kind words on Hart's blog and for downloading my book & saying nice things about it. Roland

But of course, Roland :-)
I had to put the book down, because I started reading it so late, and I read it aloud to my husband, and we were both scared :-D
Thank you for writing such a wonderful book, about such an interesting idea... intelligent horror, wonderful :-)
And thank you for taking time to visit my blog too :-) Appreciated :-)

Oh, great resource. A lot of work, yes, but it can also work well as a menue to pick and choose.
